- Broker Comment: IN MARCH OF 2012 MY HUSBAND LOST HIS JOB WHICH CAUSED AN EXTREME FINANCIAL DEFICIT IN OUR HOUSEHOLD. WE HAD JUST PURCHASED OUR HOME A YEAR PRIOR AND HAD QUICKLY BEGUN TO FALL BEHIND IN PAYMENTS OF MANY OF OUR FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS. MY HUSBANDS CASE FOR UNEMPLOYMENT WAS CONTINUOUSLY DENIED REGARDLESS OF THE EVIDENCE, AND THE FINANCIAL STRAIN BECAME MORE SEVERE AS TIME WENT BY. WE HAD TO CHOOSE BETWEEN SAVING OUR HOME AND BEING ABLE TO FEED OUR CHILDREN AND UNFORTUNATELY JUST DID NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY OUR CREDIT CARD BILLS. I HAD ATTEMPTED TO WORK OUT AN ARRANGEMENT WITH CITIBANK BUT THEY REFUSED TO ACCEPT THE AMOUNT WE COULD AFFORD. I HAVE SINCE CONTACTED AN ATTORNEY AND AM IN THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO NEGOTIATE A PAYMENT ARRANGEMENT TO SATISFY THE JUDGMENT. THE ATTORNEY IS STILL WAITING FOR A RESPONSE FROM CITIBANK ON THE ACTUAL AMOUNT OF THE JUDGMENT. PLEASE NOTE, THE ABOVE AMOUNT WAS THE AMOUNT OF THE CREDIT CARD LIMIT BUT I AM SURE IS NOT THE AMOUNT OF THE JUDGMENT.
